Wonderful educational technology tools are everywhere! However, with little guidance and time to devote to learning these new techniques, teachers can easily become overwhelmed, frustrated, and resistant to new strategies.
I recently discussed Sophia for professional development, and I’ve actively been searching for more programs designed to help teachers learn new tech skills, at their own pace, and FOR FREE!
Here are some sites I stumbled upon today.
- I love this website! In addition to offering TONS of professional development resources relating to technology, EdTechTeacher also provides “tools for teachers” that include everything from iPad apps to tools for the web. This is truly a great site that I can’t wait to investigate more!
- I’ve already signed up for three EdTechTeacher webinars 🙂
- Wow! This website is packed with awesome information about technology professional development…webinars, online courses, certification programs, face-to-face workshop opportunities galore! The only downside to this site is that many of the programs are available at a price. However, if your district could cover the cost for you, I think these programs would definitely be beneficial.
- If you are looking for great webinars on a VARIETY of subjects, then this is definitely the place for you. Create a FREE account to join communities where you can discuss and ask questions of other members. Communities are available for just about any area you could think of…I’m particularly excited about the Blended Learning community 🙂 Webinars and professional development resources through edWeb are FREE and are amazing. This site was voted the best Open Professional Development in the 2012 Edublog Awards…all the more reason to check it out.
Thanks for reading 🙂
