Throughout my teaching career, I have been devoted to revolutionizing my classroom to encourage my students to work to achieve their full potential. The advent of technology tools and initiatives have helped me create a 21st-century classroom and equip my students with skills they will use outside the classroom in our ever-changing world.

Social Studies Teacher, Central R-III School District; Park Hills, Missouri – August 2008-present
As a high school Social Studies teacher, I am responsible for creating and assessing rigorous curriculum, maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment, monitoring and facilitating student learning, among many day to day activities. As the department chairperson, I am responsible for ensuring my colleagues understand requirements, and encouraging them to perform in their classroom at their highest level.
Education:
Missouri State University; Springfield, Missouri – January 2012-December 2012
I completed 18 hours of graduate level coursework in History through Missouri State University in order to meet the state of Missouri’s requirements for teaching dual credit classes to high school students.
University of Missouri-Columbia; Columbia, Missouri – August 2009-December 2011
I graduated with my Master of Science in Teaching, specializing in Social Studies Education, after completing rigorous coursework through the online graduate program at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Southeast Missouri State University; Cape Girardeau, Missouri – August 2005-May 2008
I graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with honors after earning my Bachelor of Science in Education degree, specializing in secondary Social Studies
Skills
I am extremely interested in the extraordinary potential of the uses of technology in the classroom and have taken steps to create a 21st-century learning environment for my students. Blended learning, flipped learning, gamification, and online learning environments are utilized in my classroom. Teaching with Technology has been featured in EdTech Magazine’s 2016 50 Must-Read IT Blogs , EdTech Magazine’s 2017 50 Must-Read IT Blogs. Bethany was listed as a finalist in EdTech Digest’s 2017 Awards in the School Leader category, and listed as one of the Top 100 Flipped Learning Leaders in 2017 and 2018. Bethany was also recognized as a Spotlight Educator for the 2018 METC Conference and was recognized as the Outstanding Young Educator at the METC conference in 2019. Bethany was also recognized as the Citizenship Teacher of the Year by her local and regional VFW posts in 2017.
