Are you a Google school? Will your building be adopting Chromebooks soon? Are you interested in making it easier for students to access important websites, like school, class, or activity related pages? Well, this post is for you!
This quick and easy to understand tutorial from Google will guide you through the process of building your very own Chrome app! The only change to these steps that I made was to use Edit Pad instead of Word Pad or Text Mate (as is indicated in the directions) because I created my app on my Chromebook, and Edit Pad is just easier! Why should you try this in your classroom? Instead of sending students on a long and tricky journey of typing in websites, clicking on this link, following that link there, etc, simply have students add apps to their Chrome launcher. Chromebook administrators can even push specific apps out to your students Chromebooks. Awesome, right?

I can’t wait to see what Google’s Classroom has in store!
