Doing MORE with Google Drive in the Classroom!

Google Drive can be such a great tool in the classroom! Students can use the components of Google Drive in so many ways. In my Wonderful World of Google post, I highlighted useful aspects of this great tool, and I hope to provide you with more information about the amazing technology that is Google Drive!

Below I’ve listed more ways to use Google Drive in your classroom.

• Use Google Docs as a classroom backchannel
• Teacher shares a Google Doc with the students with a specific prompt or question
• Students comment throughout a lecture, video, or other class activity
• The teacher and students have access to the document…keeps students actively engaged!
• Allow students to collaboratively take notes 
• Teacher shares a Google Doc with the students (maybe some sort of guided note-taking document)
• Students contribute to the document (See KWL Chart example)
• Students can work together to create a Google Presentation
• Students can collaborate and critique their classmates’ work
• Use Google Docs to collaborate with students while they are actively reading a document
• Upload one of the Federalist Papers as a Google Doc and share it with the students
• As students actively read (take notes, make connections, highlight important sections) the teacher can comment in real time
• Students can create a Google Form to survey their classmates on a specific issue 
• Google Form responses can be compiled in a Google Spreadsheet…all within Drive!
