Looking for a place to discuss ideas, questions, and concerns about educational technology? Online communities are great places to learn tips, tricks, and new ideas about the ever changing world of educational technology! I’ve listed a few of my favorite online communities below…

• Google+
• There are TONS of communities on Google+ dealing with educational technology. If you’re looking for information on utilizing Chromebooks in your classroom, join Chromebook EDU. If you’re looking for information on the wonderful world of Google, join Google Apps for Education. Want to connect your classroom with a classroom in another part of the world? Ask a question in the Google Hangouts in Education community! Have an idea or need help with a Google Script? Join Apps Scripts for Education! Have a general tech question? Check out Teachers Helping Teachers…and the list goes on! 
• Twitter
• I’ve discussed how great Twitter can be in a professional development capacity before, but I think it counts as an online community, too! Looking for information on flipping your classroom? #flipclass is for you! • Edmodo
• We already know that Edmodo is a great Learning Management System for our classrooms. However, have you joined the communities on Edmodo? There are content related communities for just about every subject (Social Studies, Math, etc), a Professional Development community, a Computer Technology community, a Support community, and more! You can utilize Edmodo as a professional development tool, and not even sign up your class!
• GEDB Forum
• Do you have a question about an app or a technology tool that you can use in your classroom? Check out the GEDB! It’s new look is great! Ask questions in the forum related to your classroom technology, search for new and notable edtech tools, take courses in edtech content and more! This is a great community through which to gain basic and advanced knowledge of the wonderful world of edtech.
