When I first read about AnswerGarden on Twitter, (which is where I find a lot of cool tech tools!) I admit I was skeptical. It seemed as though it was almost too simplistic…but that’s the beauty of it! AnswerGarden doesn’t have the bells and whistles of Padlet, but it is clean, simple, and basically distraction-free!

Like other collaboration tools, AnswerGarden allows you to pose a question, and your audience responds. The difference with AnswerGarden is that your audience can only respond to your question in 20 characters, which means this tool would probably be best for quick formative assessments rather than discussion board activities.

AnswerGarden allows the creator, called “the gardener,” to set specific parameters for the “garden,” such as

•  “Classroom Mode” 
• allows each participant to submit an unlimited number of answers, but submit each answer only once
• “Brainstorm Mode”
• allows each participant to submit an unlimited number of responses, and make unlimited copies of each
• “Moderator Mode”
• allows the gardener to moderate posts before they appear in the garden
• “Locked Mode”
• responses are viewable, but no new posts are allowed
