Sometimes, we don’t think of YouTube as the go-to place for good information. However, there are so many great channels available through YouTube that provide awesome information for teachers in virtually any subject area!
Are you thinking about “flipping” your classroom? Check out the Flipped Learning channel on YouTube. Aaron Sams and Jonathon Bergmann have posted many videos about the flipped concept, as well as how it looks in their classrooms on this channel. Here’s a great video that shows Jon Bergmann talking about how great the flipped environment can be for learning.

Are you a teacher like me who is SO EXCITED about going 1:1 with Chromebooks in your classroom?! Maybe, like me, you sometimes feel a little overwhelmed by all of the amazing resources available for using Chromebooks. Why not try the Chromebook Channel on YouTube? This channel was created by Aaron Slutsky and James Sanders and is geared toward helping teachers and schools successfully implement Chromebooks. This channel has archived WEBINARS which are awesome tools for teachers. Below is a video tutorial about using Socrative in your classroom.

Looking for information about using Google apps for education? Check out the Google in Education channel! This has great information about using Google and Chromebooks in a variety of different content areas. There is a specific video with how Chromebooks can be used in Social Studies, which is really exciting for me because very few people actually care about Social Studies!! Check out this video on using Chromebooks in your Social Studies classroom!

Edutopia, one of my favorite ed blogs, also has a YouTube channel! Teachers can find so many awesome resources for new strategies by viewing any number of their amazing videos! Here is a video from their website that takes viewers on a tour of Ted-Ed.

As you can see, YouTube has so much potential when it comes to teacher professional development. Many teachers are already using YouTube videos in their classrooms, but we can use them for our learning, too!
