Google+ is the new (er) guy on the social media scene. It’s not quite Facebook, not quite Twitter, but somewhere in between. Using Google+, along with other GAFE features, teachers can create a totally Google classroom, possibly eliminating the need for an additional Learning Management System.
Of course, when Google releases Classroom later this year…who knows what will happen!
Here are some ways I think Google+ could be used effectively in the classroom:
- Sending out messages
- Sharing links
- Sharing videos
- Reminding students of important events
- Message or discussion board for students
- Students can make a post, and can then comment on each other’s posts directly!
Students can also follow important individuals or organizations on Google+, just like Twitter or Facebook.
So, what’s the major difference between Google+ and other forms of social media?? Google+ is rarely blocked!!
GAFE schools can use Google+ as a platform for teaching students about digital citizenship!
How you do use Google+ in your classroom?
Thanks for reading 🙂
