As a Google Apps Script novice, I am just stumbling upon Goobric. I’ve successfully launched gClassFolders (love it) and Doctopus (love it), and finally fixed a rubric to use with Goobric.
If you’re thinking about trying Goobric, here are a few tips for your rubric creation
- Leave cell A-1 BLANK
- When I originally created the rubric, I included a column title in cell A-1…don’t do it…it won’t work!
- Only use numeric values in the top row of your rubric
- When I originally created the rubric, I listed the number of points possible for the column title, as well as a term (Advanced, Proficient, etc)…just use numbers!
If you’re using the OLD version of Doctopus, like me (click here for information) then Goobric is an option with the Doctopus script. Goobric is also available as a Chrome extension. Be sure that you’ve authorized the extension to run, and have received confirmation that the extension was successful.
This will make grading essays and constructed response assignments SO much easier! Through using Goobric, teachers can email a completed rubric to their students, allowing the students to see exactly where they earned or lost points. It is amazing!
I’ve created a tutorial to help guide teachers through using Goobric. To access the tutorial, please click here or scan the QR Code on this page. (I will also add this to the Scripts Tutorials at the top of the page)
On a side note, I received my Chromebook yesterday…and I love it!
I hope you enjoy using Goobric!
Thanks for reading 🙂
